I do laugh occasionally when I am by myself when I think of something that strikes me as humorous.

My cat used to laugh at Schopenhauer.

I laugh when I'm alone.

But I disagree about animals having no imagination. I have had many cats (1 or 2 at a time), and they love to pretend--that's imagination. You know they don't actually want a piece of string, right? They're pretending it's the tail of some tiny creature.

And most animals physically can't laugh, but my cats sometimes play tricks on me, and get a very smug expression that would be a laugh if they were people.

Yeah, go ahead, dismiss me as a crazy cat lady. That'll make me laugh!

I also laugh out loud sometimes when I'm in a store looking at birthday cards. Then I feel like a dork, LOL!

yeah, of course.

If you are driving and listen to the comedy channel and giggle and laugh, other car drivers usually smile back. Nice feeling.

I sure have. It's usually when reading something that I find funny enough that I burst out without even thinking

I often laugh when I'm alone, because I crack myself up sometimes. According to my husband, I also laugh a lot in my sleep. As far as animals laughing - I'm not sure if they do or not, but this dog seems to be really enjoying listening to the music:
