The only "odd" thing about it is the anger towards the mother who did indeed pick OP up.
The selfish part comes in when the poster said they couldn't care less if they got a taxi, yet still called for mommy and then cried the blues because there was a 20 minute wait.

Read the thread - people are calling the op selfish for asking her mother for a ride. Those exact words were spoken.
