I love snow, however, and it never snows there; right?
Not too much, west of the Cascade Range. It’s usually just clouds and light rain for much of the year.

It’s cool to see like-minded people who understand the love for dark, overcast skies!

My daughter is that way. Her preferences:

Big stormy Days
Overcast cloudy days.
Rain/snow
Clear sunny days with big puffy clouds.
Sunny days.

I don't really dislike long days and sunny weather, but I do love short days however. As someone who is autistic, what I really dislike is high UV radiation more than anything else, and even cloudy overcast days can be just as bad when it comes to that regard.

So high UV radiation (especially in heat) is my least favourite weather type because of how bright and hot the sun could be. I like all types of weather but my most favourite weather type would be cold with dark skies.

Is there a link between autism and preferring overcast, cool days???

I love short days and dark "gloomy" weather all day long. It's so much more calming, forgiving, and cozy.

Sunlight is too loud and harsh, and anything over 60F is too hot. Even when wearing sunglasses, the being in the sunlight makes me squint.

Am I the only non-sun worshipper?

I love gloomy days but I don’t dislike long sunny days. Never been a sun worshipper so how the the heck did I end up in Arizona lol

I love cool, cloudy, drizzly weather. Ideally, I'd live in a forest where the sunlight is only ever dappled at most and the temperature rarely climbs above 65f.

Sadly I live in Florida.

If it's serious, check with your MD about referral to a psych MD for a one-time evaluation.
Are you serious?

Every preference does not have to be pathologized.

I hate the strong sun angle (April-October) of my area combined with any excessive heat and humidity. Enjoying working at home in my icy cool finished basement that is much cooler at 65F now that it is summer unforunately. Looking at moving to an area that is colder and drier at 46N latitude. I'm much too far south for what I prefer now at 38.5N latitude.
