I often remember when I lived in a big city riding the train to work - I would see people do things that I couldn't not understand how they didn't realize how rude they were being. I think, of course, having a loud conversation on their phone for everyone to hear. Having a "lovefest" for all grossed out victims to see. Playing music on any device openly... going through the drive thru with a LONG list of items is lately one that gets me...
I am curious to read what you folks consider rude behavior and why some people find this okay. Do we live in the "me world" that most do not care what they do.
Putting their shoes/feet on chairs/sofa/seats, tables, or walls. So many people do this on trains and in the pubic in general. Sometimes at people’s homes as well.
All of the above for sure, and I'll add a whole family or group walking side by side down store isles or sidewalks.
Hee hee....and it never enters their mind that it's a problem for others.
Let's not forget the shopper who walks away from his cart....leaving it positioned in the middle of the aisle so no one get maneuver around it. Grrr....
One of the rudest things I encounter is cell phones ringing during quite, meditative classes in yoga and tai chi. It happens frequently. It used to be that a phone would go off and its owner would immediately grab it, silence it, and apologize. Now they just let it ring and ring, four times or even more. Some eventually pick it up to silence it and will look to see what the message is and occasionally even respond. Others just let it ring and ring until it goes into voicemail.
I got to the point that when a phone went off I could be pretty complacent about it, realizing that people just forget to turn it off. But now with reminders before class and the letting it ring and ring, I think it goes beyond that---to the actual rudeness of not caring if people are disrupted during what should be a sacred, silent time.

I once was in a play and a woman's phone started going off - now looking back, she was paralyzed in embarrassment but you're right - there is always reminders before a show or class to TURN OFF YOUR PHONE.
I have also been to plays and the phone goes off...it makes me so mad.
People are selfish and inconsiderate, knowing there won't be any harsh consequences from it, that's why they do it.
They play loud videos/music on their smartphones
They play loud music in their earphones to which you can hear the music
They pick their noise, sneeze, and cough without covering or caring
They carry on loud conversations on the phone or with their friends
They refuse to put their phone on silent in the movie theater, then they let it ring 5 times before doing anythnig about it
They put boogers all over public restrooms
They use the restroom without flushing
They never tip, don't care to tip
It's their world and we're just living in it.
