I had posted about ASMR a couple of weeks ago. It stands for "autonomous sensory meridian response." That doesn't really mean anything, but at least now it has a name.

As I said before, I had it all my life but thought it was just me. Then I found ASMR videos on youtube, getting many thousands of hits.

So it isn't just me, but I don't know how common it is. There has been very little research on it. I have asked several people and they probably all think I'm crazy now. They find the videos almost as fun as watching grass grow.

ASMR is when you get into a blissful state from watching and hearing certain things. My favorite so far is watching reiki healing, and there's lots of those on youtube.

The first time I posted about it there were some replies from people who get it, but not many. So I wondered if anyone here has any idea how common it might be.

I remember my first experience getting ASMR in 5th grade when the nurse was doing a lice check running the stick through my hair. But I’ve been watching ASMR videos since 2014. Dr. Dimitri would be my favorite.

I haven't seen Dr. Dimitri, will look.

The yearly lice check was my favorite thing about elementary school.

His channel is MassageASMR. I've posted a link to one of his videos on one of your previous ASMR threads. Dr. Dmitri is one of his many role characters.

Thanks, will try it!

I have been mostly watching CordeliaCharter and her reiki role-playing. She has the most gentle hand motions and voice, that I have found so far. But I have watched them all more than once. Need something different.

They don't refer to him as the 'king of ASMR' for nothing. He's one of the best.

But you should try CordeliaCharter, she is really good too. Maybe she copies him a little.
