Let's examine the only foreseeable pathway as of right now. Suppose 50 enter a graduate program. Let's also assume I am not befriending anyone after the term is over (statistically that is what is going to happen with near certainty). Meaning if I don't hook up then, I never will from anyone of that pack.
That leaves us with me finding my long lost love 1 in 50=2% procent chance.
After I leave graduation, go unemployed for probably a long time, likely even lower.
I have stopped believing it realistically, for real. Just wondering if my thoughts are warrented after 30 years of this trend.
You would too after 30 years. I was severely bullied as a boy, to the point that it affected my intelligence (critical period window). Girls in school always liked me though, and recognized me long after, which was sweet. My mom did everything for me. Father was never there. I don't really hold a grudge against women in particular. Both sexes are equally flawed in their own way. Girls and women have almost always treated me well in person.
After reading everything so far, my impression of you is that you are not someone others would care to be around either as a co worker, friend, or romantic partner. You sound like a snob yourself, actually. Your responses here (for example #56) make you sound like a condescending smart aleck.

Again, there is no end of those people in relationships.
I'm in my 60s and don't bother to keep up with trends,
so I'm curious: are these dating apps all there is nowadays??
I certainly hope not!
Keep in mind: humans have been meeting, falling in love, arguing, breaking up,
reuniting, having second thoughts, moving on, etc. etc. throughout history,
without ever needing smart phones.
make sure yr in a relationship that fits *both* of yr needs, equally.
My father does not believe in the concept at all. He does not think we were meant for it. There is a period of excitation, degradation, and ultimately irreconcilability.
I want to prove him wrong.
