Mother says he child is gay but now says she identifies as bisexual? (mom, parent)

This was a huge thing in my relatives town this year. A 12 year old girl comes out as gay. She always says her name and that she is “gay and proud”. Her parents (although they said it was her) organized a parade. Had a GoFundme page that raised 20K and got many more donations. They made her an advocate for young gay kids. Now the mom says she identifies as bisexual. Isn’t that kind of false advertising.

Dunno, but bisexuals need the advertising more than gay people do.

Kids that age are just figuring things out sexually. It's something a lot of adults wrestle with for many years.

How bizarre. While it's good if parents are honest with kids about sex, what it is, how it can affect them, etc. exploring and publicizing their kids sexuality with them is way too much. It's appropriate to be available to your kids for questions and supportive of them, but not to pry or publicize. At the end of the day whatever our kids decide is appropriate for them is actually none of our business, sex being a part of a person's private life.

As for being gay vs. bi, it's still on the Q spectrum, and has nothing to do with "false advertising"
