Please read. I called "communism" a neat successor to pre-Enlightenment monarchy.

You are right on Ruth. I live in a high rise with 4 floors dedicated to seniors and the other 16 floors are for younger people of all ages. Most of them do not wear masks or obey distancing recommendations. Everyone is saying "they won't get it" but they don't think they could be asymptomatic(as you said) and pass it along to the seniors they live in proximity with and use the same elevators with.

The restrictions of 1-2 people in an elevator at one time is not being followed. Yes, I get impatient waiting for 10 elevators before I can get on one. We can takes stairs down to ground but coming back up we cannot access our floors due to them being locked.

One woman got on an elevator I was already in and her and her girlfriend piled in even though there were already 2 of us onboard. I was with my frail 85 year old friend and I tried to stop the young women from entering the elevator. One of them did not pay any attention and said" I want to get home when I want to get home" referring to not wanting to wait for another elevator to take her up. She hadn't even waited at all for an elevator. I tried to tell her my friend is 85 and would die if she got it. But that did not mean anything to the younger women. They did not care.

I don't like rules any more than anyone else does but when it comes to life and death I am serious.
There are conspiracy theories out there but what does it matter right now how covid got here? The fact that it is here and we have to deal with it and fight it.

Here we are isolating trying to make an end to the pandemic and the young people are out spreading it around more. !!!

The women were entitled and rude. However...

If I felt very strongly about safety, then I would have gotten off the elevator right then with my friend and let the other two women go up. Even though you got there first.

And although it's not okay, a lot of people will stop listening as soon as you play the "if I get it, I'll die" card. They will see that as dramatizing, which it sort of is, as at least 75% of 85-and-up Covid patients survive. If you have to say something, it might be better just to say you or your friend are at high risk.

Exactly. I got football application tickets for one of my Alma Maters. They have a large fanbase (to say the least). The new rules restrict stadium attendance to about 20% with no tailgaters (supposedly).

Psychologically, I am extremely skeptical that all students will comply with that rule "no tailgaters". I am confident a lot will, but I am also confident some won't. At many home football games, the start of the season usually has parties like this. And I was right, FSU had parties like that with many students not social distancing and avoiding masks. It's ripe for another outbreak in the next few weeks. I won't be surprised if football season is cut short because of parties and outbreaks. Stay tuned...
