Hi.
I have the following problem. The dog of the neighbor, is barking all the time - all day and some part through the night. At some point I started feeling anger to this animal. I started to imagine how beat on him and from this desperation that I cannot prevent him from this barking and the anger to him I have problems with the sleep through the night. Through the night my pulse is high, and I cannot sleep even though when is quieter.

Can you point me what I can do to change my approach to this situation because this anger cause me a lot of difficult time. Is there any psychological technique that i can practice to solve this problem. The pills are to time and they are not solution.

The problem was absolutely the same a year ago, but then it was pigeons.

Thank you.

Earplugs?
White noice machine?
Noise reducing curtains?
Sleep in another part of your house/flat?
Talk to your neighbor?
Talk to your doctor and discuss possible hyperacusis or misophonia?
Move out and hope that a new location will be quieter ( although this is not guaranteed)...

A friend of mine got these cheap mini air horns for the dog next door. I think you can get them at the drugstore. He would squeeze the horn whenever the dog barked. The dog hated the sound. After a short time, even the faintest sound from the horn would quiet the dog.

Let's hope it helps. Last year it was pigeons. Next year could be earthworms ...

I hear you, I have a 2nd house that I only spend a week in per year and a neighbor has multiple dogs that are kept in a pen outside all day and night and they just bark non stop. This house is in the mountains, so the echo of the barking is unbelievable. I have no idea how the other neighbors put up with it and they have only lived in the house for about a year. I couldn't imagine having to live with that day after day night after night. Sorry, can't be of more help but you aren't alone.

Can you talk to the neighbor about keeping their dog quiet/inside? It's not the dog's fault that it has a neglectful owner.

Please don't beat on the dog. The dog is bored, hence he barks. How about offering to take the dog for a walk? Not only will it benefit the dog by making him tired but it will do the same for you. Exercise can improve your sleep patterns and frankly petting an animal can relax you.

Could be classic TDS symptoms. There is help, but you need a proper diagnosis

I can relate.......my neighbour's dog tries to attack my dog through our fence and it's frustrating bc there is nothing I can do. I've started talking to the dog through my fence to kind of "be-friend" him but it's not working at all!! I feel your pain.
