I try to find the exit but every door leads to more rooms full of people with no masks on. I wake up in a panic and cannot catch my breath or go back to sleep.
Another dream is I’m being hugged by strangers in masks! I don’t want to be hugged and am trying to get away!
Dreams like this represent anxieties you are having over things in your life. Sounds like you have things going on over which you feel helpless, no control over things happening, making you feel trapped.
What is happening in your life that is making you feel you have no control over it, and is making you feel trapped?
Often when I am anxious about something I have slanting dreams. All the floors are steeply slanted and I keep sliding backwards, but no one else has any problems walking.
Lately I've been waking up laughing. Most of the time the dream is gone by the time I wake up, only the laughter remains. One laughing dream I remember because it was about a friend whom I dream about often, and I told her about it because I happened to see her the next day. But most often the dream is gone. My departed mother is in some of them I think.

Damn you COVID!
Any strange dreams you are having???
In my dreams I just shoot them between the eyes and duck the other way to avoid any blood spurt.
Nothing beyond the normal weirdness of dreamland. I have noticed of late, though, that I remember more dreams, and that more of them are either overtly sexual or more commonly have semi-erotic overtones embedded in a larger story.
I've had a lot of Covid dreams since the pandemic began. One where I was trying desperately to get out of a house that had what appeared to be a number of doors leading to the outside, but every time I opened one, it turned out to lead just to another interior room. I also have a lot of dreams where people are not wearing masks and I am very worried about everyone's health.
In my most recent Covid dream, I was setting Hoodoo candles. Most of them were yellow, which I recognized as candles known as Road Openers. When I awoke, the word "fuite" was in my head. I looked it up and it means "escape" in French. But I don't speak French.

The last two times I went into grocery stores (third week of March 2020) I was the only person in the entire store wearing a mask. And people were not respecting personal boundaries, much less social distancing, at all.
I started having dreams about trying to get away from crowds of people but they kept closing in on me.
Fortunately my therapist recommended guided meditation. And that has helped me take a break from anxiety.
At the beginning of the pandemic, I had lots of mask and crowd dreams. They've popped back up recently as I anxiously watch the botched vaccine rollout and have no real idea of when I'll be able to safely rejoin the world again.
The other night I caught myself hitting my mattress thinking it was someone in my dream. It woke me up out of a dead sleep. Even when I wake up refreshed these days I feel like a dark cloud is looming over me. How many days more of this will there be and when do I get a break from it all. GOOD MORNING.
