my former boss...a total drunk...went into the hospital for some sort of stomach procedure. When they opened him up they took one look at his liver and closed him right back up. Dead right there on the table.
Obviously it is one's choice, but i personally prefer life.
"Heavy drinking: For women, heavy drinking is 8 drinks or more per week"
CDC...lol
So, one glass of wine daily with evening meal, and two glasses on Saturday is considered heavy drinking?
I don't know if it counts as "heavy" in many cultures but more than that isn't considered healthy. Alcohol is a poison that takes its toll on the body trying to process it.

I drink 1 liter of vodka when I drink. Do you think it is too much?
This is like when someone asks, 'Do I look fat in this?'... you already know the answer, so no need to ask, right?
I'm assuming someone recently told you they think you drink too much. If you're considering stopping, see a doctor so you don't seizure going cold turkey. You do know a seizure could leave you paralyzed and/or brain damaged, no?
Good luck. You've got a long road ahead to detox, but probably a far shorter one if you are h*ll bent on destroying your liver, kidneys & brain cells.
An attention grabbing post. Yeah, that much would likely kill me since I rarely drink and therefore have practically no tolerance for alcohol. Even a regular drinker with a big tolerance, this amount must be harmful to your health.
Interesting article recently in NYT about "hang-xiety", how drinking even just a little bit can have profound psychological effects:
"..The first thing to know about alcohol is that it does many things to the body. “It really causes profound physical effects across a variety of different systems,” explained Dr. Carl Erik Fisher, an addiction psychiatrist at Columbia University. Among other things, it affects the kidneys, immune system, brain, hormones, metabolism and the circulatory system, he said. No wonder consuming it can make us feel weird the next day, even if we don’t have that much..."
I had a brilliant friend who was a functional alcoholic. He was a Dean of a Medical School and taught classes after a lunch of several martinis, then went to happy hour and drank more. It caught up to him, he had a seizure. He quit drinking for a while, but couldn't stop. He died several years ago. Get help. Watch the movie "Leaving Ls Vegas".
OP made this thread but has not been back to clarify and answer follow-up Qs.
Over time, sometimes not long, a drinker's tolerance goes up and the body needs to work harder to process more alcohol ingested over shorter periods of time and/or longer periods of time.
It can be a harmful slipper slope.
