Hi. We are considering a home in Lakewood Ranch, but living here in St. Louis MO, and having no idea of the areas, we don't even really know what Lakewood Ranch is. Husband will be transfering with job (Veterans Administration) in St. Pete. Could you help with area information? We have one child, age 6, and schools and neighborhoods are VERY important. Thanks.

It's definately wise to bear in mind schools as they do affect property values, you can tell that by looking at southside elementary in sarasota, where my initial search started.

We're just about to close on a property in siesta key and we are both english currently living in Spain. We love Sarasota but wanted a more spanish way off live, siesta key ticks all the boxes for the whole family. Beach for the one year old, My husband is retiring and wanted plenty of golf courses and i wanted restaurants, culture and beaches and great farmers markets and supermarkets, something that is lacking in spain.

After my detailed search I know Sarasota and the barrier islands like the back off my hand, if you need any advice pm me

Lakewood Ranch would be an excellent option if your husband is working in St Pete. It's close to the interstate for easy access. Lakewood Ranch, the largest green-certified community in the US, is an 8,500- acre master-planned community. I believe BBronston lives in LWR and would probably be your best resource if you're looking in that community.
