Thought you all might enjoy this reply from Frank's FB site, after I directed him to read our thread:

Fishin Franks: Wow thnak you all, I guess I need to work on the rough edges, maybe I am getting a little too colorful of a characture, But I will try to do better on those things, And I will promise to keep the things we do right, well I will try to make those even better, It is not hard when you deal with as nice of people as we do every day, forgiving of my bad additue & just all around nice people Thanks

If you don't follow him on Facebook, you should. There's lot of good fishing reports and photos of catches on his site.

I live in PG Deep Creek. I'm not sure which marina is closest. I appreciate any advice you can give.

Charter or party boat? There are a couple party (head) boats out of Placida on Fishery rd. They are about $60 for 6 hours, bait and rods included. The charters are gonna cost 10 times that plus$.

Well, you at least have to tell folks if you plan to drive to the Gulf (Englewood, Placida, Venice, Boca, Cape Coral, Pine Island, etc...) to hook up with a boat, or want to board a boat close to home (Punta Gorda). Best bet for offshore would be the numerous charter boats in the above mentioned towns on the gulf. Most of the charters here locally are inshore (harbor) and flats fishermen, not offshore guys.

Anyone fishing the Fishin' Franks all night tourney tomorrow night? $30 entry fee. Cash prizes for biggest Shark, Catfish and Stingray. I won't be doing it but some year I'd like to. I think I might go down to his store on Sunday morning to see the catches, though.

I might go Sunday too. Today I'm having a crab feast at the house with some friends - I'll post a picture of the crabs on another thread in a while.
