Actually I think it's just a searobin. The pic threw me off at first because it looked like the eyes were small slits.

Another fish I caught Saturday (didn't land, jumped the hook) was a Puffer fish. Used to catch them by the dozens in Rehoboth Bay, DE back in the 60's and 70's. Hadn't seen one in yeeeeeears. Only 2 little strips on the sides you can eat or you get very, very sick. Sort of a throw back in my memory. If I landed him I would have tickled him to get 'em to puff up and then throw him back and watch him float till he figured it out and deflated. They do have some buck teeth though!

Living on a canal, I've been listening to drum making their mating calls every night now for 2 months. Sometimes it's just one; other times it's a whole chorus. Anybody having any luck catching these critters?

I'm coming over to camp out in your backyard!
No, haven't heard anything. 2 miles from harbor proper on canal.

Tally from last night at dusk in the backyard with the funky flood tide.
One ladyfish
One RedFish, 15" (dang!)
4 catfish
countless blue crabs trying to get my frozen shrimp.
Tonight, 9 crabbys in the trap. Should have >dozen by Sat. They're everywhere on the sea wall. Good sized too.

Hello All,

I live in Broward County Florida. Going up next weekend to visit my mom. Want to fish for a little while. Any good fishing spots near or at a Beach? She lives off of Melbourne Street and Tamiami Trail. Think its classified as Charlotte Harbor?

Live Pilchards are the thing to use in Broward County. Might try to bring some up with me.

Thanks,
