Next time, I'm going to try crushed corn flakes instead of the bread crumbs - should be even crunchier on the outside.....of course, next time I also hope it's a cobia instead of a catfish.

I mix cornflakes with crushed Ritz crackers, or just the crackers by themselves...they give a great taste that the corn flakes don't have. I've heard of people using crushed Doritos, I gotta try that soon; maybe some cool ranch and some taco bell flavor.

Bread crumbs are so boring .

I'll give Ritz a try next time. Never thought of that - thanks.

I enjoy all of my fillets, simply grilled, baked or broiled with a sprinkling of Everglades seasoning. Healthy, tasty and low calorie. Redfish, trout, sheepshead, flounder, grouper, and my favorite so far....pompano. Can't wait to taste snook but I've not yet caught my legal slot keeper this season.

Try catfish that way.....you'll run screaming for flour, bread crumbs, Ritz and potato chips :-)))

I agree on the pompano; grilled whole over hot charcoal, and served just with lemon, a little sea salt and pepper, it's really hard to beat.

Default Feeding fish

I am playing around with the idea of getting an automatic broadcast feeder for my dock to feed the fish in the salt water canal behind the house.

I have seen them used on Koy ponds but I'm not sure what to use for food.

Any ideas or thoughts?

Gary

I would use the cheapest dry cat/dog food I could find.

I install an underwater fish light this weekend, it's amazing to see how many fish are in my backyard.

I'll try to take some pictures and post them

What brand of light? I see they sell one in Fishin' Franks (I think it's the one that's manufactured in Port Charlotte). I'm also recently saw an LED one advertised in my last edition of the BoatUS magazine. A light will definitely be a part of my dock when it's built.
