Just a note to my invisible Florida fishing friends.14 degrees when I woke up this morning. The Ice Eater has been running full blast for several days to keep the lagoon ice off my docks. Tides are so low that I have to shut off the machine during low tide or the propeller spins above the surface.

Went to stumps pass the last two days. Saw alot of people fishing from the beach but no one catching anything. They were all fishing as far as they could cast. We caught sheepshead and flounder all keepers and all within ten foot from shore. They were in the first trough and hanging under the floating weeds. My wife was catching three to my one. She had put a medium split shot two inches from the round pink *** which kicks up more sand as it is worked. Small shrimp or a piece of a large one.

This was my first time catching them without structure. They were under the weeds.

Default Getting A Stiffy

I'm excited I'm finally getting a Stiffy....brand push pole. Been wanting one since I got my flats boats. Many of the spots I fish are too shallow for my trolling motor. I have to drive all the way to Marco Island to get it off craigslist but these are hard to find on the used market. Lots of imitators out there for cheaper but I'm told nothing beats a Stiffy. Will be challenging bringing home a 21' Stiffy with my F150 and no sliding rear window. I plan to use tie downs to strap it to the truck bed wall and rest it forward on my side view mirror. I hope I don't get stopped for driving down 75 with a big Stiffy hanging out my window. Wish me luck.

Headed out with tie downs, zip ties, duct tape and two old safety vests. Everything we need to transport a big Stiffy across the State.
