Great report Jersey Man. Took me years to land my first tarpon here. Come to think of it, it took me years to land my first snook too. Thanks for the tips, wpc. I need to get with you on some cast net throwing techniques. I'd like to catch white bait this summer. I have two nets, banana technique.

The key is, "don't fall off the boat".

You should try throwing a cast net while standing on a kayak.

Yeah, that's not happenin'. I'd stay drier if I just got out and used a dipnet.

We should all check in with Frank on having one of the guys give us a lesson. I need a new net (d#%^ sunken pilings!), so a lesson should come with that - my technique isn't that great, and I probably shouldn't be teaching anybody my bad habits.

One of the Captains at Franks taught me in the parking lit when I bought my little 6'er but I didn't practice enough and now I'm sure I am leaving a step or two out.

Yeah that's easy to do, as most techniques only have about 19 steps. Miss one and the only bait you get are the ones killed by the 16 lb ball of lead weights falling on their heads.

I'll run a cast net class when I'm back down there towards the end of July
