Finally got the edits done from our trip last Saturday. If you have 2 minutes to kill, take a look. Next time I will seek to add footage of actual fish being caught! Enjoy.

Nice video, MA. I wouldn't have edited out all the scenes with fish, but that's just me. ;-)))

Great vid MA, just remind me never to fish with you if I have hemorrhoids .

Family is visiting and we tried to get out this morning, nephew, dad and sis...only made it about an hour before the rain.

Lots of small tarpon rolling in the canals with schools of snappers and baitfish too. Only managed one lure hit but he didn't stay on for too long. Tough to set the hook on a tarpon's boney mouth with wimpy snook rods. Seems like plenty of fish around though, hopefully they get hungry this week.

Thanks to both you and wpc.
Most of that footage was shot inside the Myakka Cutoff. It's quite a rush to rush like that in 1-2 foot of water.

Would have chased the fish further south but the boys don't do well in a moderate chop or worse and that day was 2-3'ers with white caps in the harbor. By contrast, you can see how smooth the cutoff was.

If your boat is on your lift you won't even have to go to the harbor to see the tarpon rolling....getting them to bite is a different story!

So JerseyMan sends me a text that he's fishing from his dock and catching lots of snook and tarpon are rolling.

So he knows me well enough to know that when it comes to fishing, if there is no picture it didn't happen.

Then the pictures start to show up.

So I grabbed my rod and and took the long trip of about 200 yards to his house and as described there were fish everywhere.

What's interesting is that it was raining lightly and as soon as the rain stopped so did the fish.

I've always liked fishing in the rain and have found that I've generally done very well on those days.

Gary

And the pictures are....?
Not that I'm skeptical, I just like to see fish pics.

Good day off of the dock. Wish I knew how to post them. I sent a photo of a small one to him. I think the photo of the 26 inch fat snook was enough to get him excited a bit. He arrives and see's that it's not a fish story. And on his third cast bam!!!! He caught a few and also lost a few next to the dock. Action was quick. I caught about 7 or 8 snook and lost a tarpon trying to get him on the dock. Nice to see fish like that in Alligator Creek. Shrimp DOA was the lure of the day.All fish released alive and well.

Fishin' Frank just shared a Facebook post regarding a stolen 17' Grady-White with a 115 Yamaha; white with blue accent stripe; I'll try to post the picture, or maybe you can find it on Frank's FB page.
