Here's the 75" Goliath Grouper pulled in off Boca Beach today. If you wanna catch the big puppies fish the pass with stingray or Cobia.

The girl in the middle reeled it in.

When we first got to the beach my hubby asked me what I wanted for Mother's Day. I told him it would be cool if I could get a pic of a manatee.

Then he said he was gonna go out in the kayak for a few and he'd be back. About 10 minutes later he returned with a manatee beside his boat. I jumped in and tried to take a few pics but we got stopped by all the poles in the water. There were lines all over in the water. I couldn't really get a very good picture of the fella.

My girlie skimming

Great pictures of the GROUPER AND THE GROUP. I keep expecting to see Big House with some pictures like that ( with a story to match.)Make sure and tell your kids be carefull around all the old people.Last year my mom got her ankle broke by a Boy on a skim board at englewood.Just a freak accident I was watching her walk along the beach about twenty yards from us I turned around for only a second and when I looked back there were a bunch of people running over to her.I had thought she had a heart attack. The family of the boy was right there with a chair and a bag of ice.We never did get thier names.I grew up in Arizona we used to skim board in the desert after a rain it would always end up being pulled behind a jeep or motorcycle and someone always got hurt.

Thanks Pcozad! It was a fun day.

BH lives really close to where I took these pics. He could drive his boat right over there and catch all kinds of fish. Maybe he needs a fishing guide. Dunno....

We used to reel in some monsters in the pass when I was a kid. Also under the Boca Grange bridge is pretty good fishing. Lots of Hammerheads under there. The pass has a wicked current flowing through.

My girl tries to find places where is kind of deserted and not many people walking around. It was a bit though today with so many people out there and all the people fishing.

Never thought of skimming behind a car. Sounds fun but a bit dangerous. They could probably skim in the puddles around here during the rainy season.

I caught some like that, but I thought that little one was a flounder, so that's how I describe it.

SoFLGal, I'll bet that fish fought for quite a while, looks like it weighs at least 125-150lbs? Did she say how long she fought it?

I know she was entered in some kind of shark tournament. I spoke to her for a few minutes. After she reeled it in they held a "Monster" sports drink up in front of the fish. So, I'm assuming the tournament has some kind of sponsorship from Monster.

I watched her for a good 30 minutes or so. She didn't have the fish on when I walked the other way up the beach so my guess would be around 45 minutes or so to reel it in. They had her strapped into a rod holder and she was sitting on the beach leaning back and reeling in.

When I took the shot from the front of the fish he/she spit out a huge Cobia, which is what they were using for bait. Others were also using stingray.

They usually range from 200-500lbs on average. Capt Tom has some videos of people reeling a few big dogs in: Another Keeper Charters | Goliath Grouper Fishing | Jewfish Fishing
It wouldn't surprise me if this one was easily 250+ lbs.

I have a few friends who are divers and said they can been pretty dangerous when you're swimming around the reefs. They basically suck their prey in like a vacuum and can suck in some pretty large creatures. I think I could have easily fit in it's mouth
