I broke open my storage boxes today and rigged up an ultra light rod with a Zoom soft plastic and hit the local community park today for about 90 mins.
Not one single bite. They say it's stocked but it's pretty shallow. Surely won't fulfill my needs.
Caught a pound and a half largemouth in one of the community ponds using a plastic craw. Lost something that hit a spinnerbait in Deep Creek but couldn't get a good look at it due to brush on the bank. It jumped twice and tangled me in the brush before getting off. Really slow.

And I must ask, what is that on the hood of the Merc? Looks like some sort of access panel.
I think that is for adding 2-stroke oil, correct?

That is an over friendly Porpoise, old and scarred. We had to leave the spot, he would let us catch all the fish we wanted except Grouper those he ate as soon as the were released.

The round access panel is for checking and or adding oil.

Nice catch! Could you provide some details on when and how you caught them? I tried crab traps last winter in Spring Lake without much success. Thanks.

I have a question, I put out 2 crab traps, bait , they ate all the bait and looked like a fish comb with just bones left in the bait box, clean as a whistle, was this possibly done by small bait fish, no crab what so ever, help, tks

Make sure the traps are not upside down...the bait needs to be on the bottom.

And a 2 tier trap. The single traps I've had them all get out as well. Especially when the bait runs out.
In the 2 tier they will eat each other when the bait runs out as well.
