Hey all

Can you recommend anyone who does inside house painting in the North Port/Port Charlotte/Punta Gorda area? It would be great if this painter can also do handyman service, because we'll be needing that too.

I saw a sign around town that said someone does painting for $99 a room. Is that a high price or about the going rate around here? We're from the midwest and not really sure what painting prices should be around here. Let me know what you think and who you would recommend.

Thanks in advance! You are all so helpful!

Check the SUN Newspaper Business and Service Directory. There are a lot of painters and handyman services in there.

I know there's a lot of people offering their services in the area, but I would prefer a recommendation by someone who has used a painter before. You just never know what you're going to get when you call!! Finding a reliable, legit company can be difficult when you're not familiar with the area.

I have a great painter----I'll get his # tomorrow and post. Should add, the $99/ room thing? That's a ploy to get you to call....maybe for a smallish bedroom, but a great room or kitchen? No way.

What are you looking to paint? The whole house? One room?

We're in the process of buying a house, so we'll be painting two small bedrooms, a larger bedroom, and a living room. If you have the number of someone that would be great! I appreciate it!

I can now safely say I have answered my question. For people who may search for painters--use Akers Painting & Decorating from Punta Gorda. They were a four man crew and did an EXCELLENT job on our house! The rooms look beautiful. They gave us the lowest estimate and actually did the entire house the following day! The owner, Ron, and all his employees were very professional. They did a great job keeping the house clean and used high quality paint. I would definately recommend them!
