Anybody been wetting a line lately? Hope to be up there in a couple of weeks
with sharp hooks and a lot of optimism........snook, reds, trout, pompano?

Anyone fish the beach over at Boca Grand Pass..hear there's lots of
whiting (called then kingfish back in NY) good eating.

Packing up and getting ready for the move.

We had a cold front come through last weekend that brought 3 days of VERY windy conditions, so nobody was out fishing. This week has been better, but I haven't been out. I ready the fishing report yesterday and whiting are everywhere right now.
Lots of folks beach fish the pass. It's a popular spot for those that don't mind the long drive out there.

HH how long to drive out there? looked reasonably close but then again we drive 3700 miles one way to visit Punta Abreojos, BCS, MX. It was windy and cool here in the Keys also, usually puts a damper on things.

Thanks for the reply... George

My GF took some pics of schooling rays while walking over the 41 bridge yesterday. When she showed them to me I spotted some very big cobia mixed in. I haven't been out in a week, but fish action at my dock has picked up.

From PC, it is about a 35-45 min drive to the very southern point of Gasparilla Island

Definately live bait but they will take artificials...an absolute killer bait is a live eel, also a killer bait for snook, hard to get in Florida. Have caught them on artificial eels....You can cruise and look for them with rays, they will also hang around manatees & turtles....got one off a manatee with a 6' bait cast and 12 lb Ande, it took forty minutes, the cobia was 30lbs., I was casting bucktail for sea trout ! The sad end of the story was he had one more flip left in him and knocked my rod and reel overboard. Still enjoyed the fillets, good eating. Tight lines.
