My son and his girlfriend are down from Minnesota and they are going to swim it today. They don't know what I have caught and been broke off under the bridge.

Aha! A fellow "Jaws" theorist; I knew I wasn't the only one.

We enjoyed the event from the upstairs patio while having lunch at Captains Table. It was fun and there were plenty of people who swam it. By 1:30 every law enforcement boat was bringing loads of tired swimmers to shore. We will now rest at home and weather permitting, launch the boat for fireworks at 7. First thunder struck as I wrote that last sentence.

Made the 45 mile boat trip to Ft Myers Beach and checked into Pink Shell Resort Marina. Have a great weekend everyone!

I wonder if any swimmers are pooping through a screen door this morning?

My crew all made it across and had a great time. Harbor was very rough on the way there in the big boat but calmed quite a bit for the swim. Not as many swimmers as last year. Was near FV when the rains hit and it was 10 minutes of chaos. Had to pluck 4 panicking kids out of the water and hold them aboard until we could transfer them to a police boat, but it took a while since they were pretty busy at the time.

Planned on staying out for the fireworks but everyone needed to come home for dry clothes. Ended up watching them from the pier at Titi's tiki bar.

I was going to take the boat out but at 8pm the tide was so low I couldn't even power off the lift, that was a first

last year it poured as soon as I did get it off

We pulled off the lift by 3, departed the dock at 630. Things cleared up right after we anchored down and it ended up being a gorgeous night with flat seas and 75*. I highly recommend you plan this for next year. From the Harbor you can see the shows from all over SWFL.
