Has any one been to previous home and garden shows in Punta Gorda? We plan on going this weekend and I'm wondering what to expect. How big is it an do you think it will be worthwhile?

My wife has gone to that. She liked the garden part of it. Found some plants she has never seen before. Not a real big show. Won't take more than hour at most.

We went our first year living here (2009). Swore we wouldn't go back. It was a joke. 85% of the booths had sales people trying to get our attention with various tactics. It reminded me of running the gauntlet of aggressive shops at every stop of a cruise ship, all trying to grab at you for your money. Not my kind of browsing. Maybe things have changed, but I wouldn't know.

I went a couple of years ago too and it wasn't worth it. It is very small and mostly just tables with a person behind trying to sell you something. No real big displays or anything. They also had a couple of workshops, but I didn't learn anything. If you are looking for vendors for a home project, remodeling, or something like that you can ask questions. When I lived in NY we went to the Home and Garden show every year at the New York State Fairgrounds and it was huge. The one here in Punta Gorda is so small. The Ft. Myers Home and Garden show is larger than the one in Punta Gorda. If you want to go for something to do, then it is ok. I think I would have more fun at the Oktoberfest at Fishermen's Village on Oct. 13th.

The home and garden show in Punta Gorda is a joke, we weren't there 15 minutes. The biggest display was Home Depot...............we won't go back.

Just went today (4/27/13). It's more like a Chiropractor, Home, and Garden show. Not sure why they allow so many back pain vendors at a show called "Home and Garden". Besides that, not too many other vendors there either. Pretty small. Thank goodness it was free!

Default Yep

I think the chiropractors took the spaces that used to belong to the encyclopedia salesmen!
