We are looking to move to North Port within 2 years. What schools have the before and after school care? Me and my husband will both have to probably work.

The only "bad" area that we know of is around Easy Street. Lot of drugs there. You drive through this area, lot of boarded up homes, low end rentals. A pocketed neighborhood, but I wouldn't be near that area. You can check out the crime map sites.

(I miss those days) I was also stationed at Bolling AFB, Washington, D.C. back in the 1970's. Anyway, my wife and I have been looking into moving to either North Port, Venice, Engelwood, or Punta Gorda. I just sold my fathers house in Venice (Wish I bough out my siblings) a few months ago, so I really only know the Venice area. I have heard some bad things about North Port, but I've learned a long time ago not to believe everything you hear and only half of what you see, so when the wife and I go down there in a couple of weeks, I go down with an open mind. I hope it's as nice as you guys say it is. We're looking forward to it.
Well it looks like Uncle Sam has forced my hand. Our contract will be ending in November. We are planning to put the house on the market and rent down in FL for a year. That way we can figure out a neighborhood we like ... I'm excited and nervous at the same time!!

Isn't easy street in PC? Maybe there is one here in NP also that I'm not aware of.
