Of course :-) Same as the rest of the country for the most part. All the sickies up north bring the crud down here and infect us all, lol Just kidding of course. $25 flu shot is well worth the cost.

To me, flu season is when ever I get the flu. And I tend to get it most often when I fly. ;-((

Well I only ask because I hear people here blaming the weather or the when the ground freezes or thaws and if that were really the case, I would think FL wouldn't be effected with a set flu season. This is the worst I have felt in years and don't wish this on anyone.

Old wives' tale. That's like people up north saying you catch a cold by not dressing properly when it's cold outside. The flu is a virus spread in most cases from person to person either directly, indirectly (touching a contaminated surface) or by airborne droplets. I wouldn't blame the weather, just other sickies.

Scientifically speaking, the flu (or colds for that matter) have absolutely nothing to do with the weather (although the dry winter air incubates viruses much longer, so they have much more probability to spread and infect others).

I have never had the flu in the 8 years since living in Florida. I also have only maybe had a cold two times since I have lived here. My parents live here and my Mom gets the flu shot every year, but she did still get the flu this year. They will tell you on TV when it is time to start getting your flu shots. It depends if there is an outbreak in the area or not. Also, your General Physician may or may not recommend it.

I often wonder how moving would impact our family's health in positive and negative ways.
