We are a young family currently looking to rent in the Punta Gorda (possibly Port Charlotte) area. We are considering Hampton Point in Punta Gorda. Is it a safe and decent area?

We are open to recommendations for any other apartment/condo complexes and even single family houses. Basically looking for 3/2 and looking to stay under $1000/mo.

Thanks!

I have known a lot of people that stay in Toledo Club Apartments in North Port. They are very close to Port Charlotte. Very family friendly and a lot of amenities and very close to the mall, restaurants, grocery store, etc. in Port Charlotte. Here is the link: Toledo Club Apartments, North Port, FL

Lakes of Tuscana Apartments in Port Charlotte near Kings Highway is a very nice community. I am not sure what the rents are there. Here is the link: Lakes of Tuscana Apartments, Port Charlotte, FL by AspenSquare

For $1,000, you can probably find a 3/2 house for rent, if you would rather do that. Of course, then you have to pay all utilities, including water if it's not on a well, and usually you are responsible for lawn care as well.
