Are there any public tracks in Port Charlotte or North Port? I know that there's one at PCHS, but the gates are closed when school is not in session so I guess it's not open. Running in my neighborhood is nice, but the asphalt is taking its toll on my shins and I'd like to find a softer surface to run on. Any ideas? I go at 7:00ish in the morning, if that makes a difference.

There is always the Tippecanoe Trail back behind the Stonecrabs' stadium. I don't know if I would recommend going alone since it seems pretty secluded (I guess that's my big-city spider sense; tough to get rid of after 27+ years of city living).

Thank you! I agree with you, though; I would be alone and probably would feel uncomfortable in a secluded area like that.
