How can we remove the grass/cattails around our dock and seawall? Don't think we want to swim with the alligators.

One person in the water while one watches. If you live on the water, you have to go in at some point for maintenance

Has anyone removed it before? Just curious how hard it will be. Does it have to be dug out? Can it pulled out? I figure I will be the lookout, while DH is in the water.

I don't have cattails, but I trim other plants from the boat. We had a 6' gator around the last few weeks and we are nowhere near freshwater. He was sunbathing on my boat ramp almost everyday. I'd rather sit in a boat than wade in the water. I've been in the water a few times...no more. You can get a cheap canoe or jon boat for $100...or even a $30 inflatable boat from walmart would be safer than wading.

Or a $6 chicken to throw to the other side of the canal. That should keep Ali busy while you clear out the cattails.
