Also does anyone know if there is a limit on the # of pet dogs one can own in North Port and / or surrounding towns? I'm sure many HOAs have rules on that but do municipalities as well?

Thanks.
Yes a yearly license done through the vet. Even though we have the 3 year rabies we have to get the license yearly,,when the license is due is the month the rabies vaccine is due even if its the 3 year. I asked why we can't get a 3 year license and was told they don't do it that way. When we moved here and got his first license it was only good for a half a year. I decided I would wait and get his new one when the rabies was due to have everything in sync. I got a nasty postcard telling me there is a $400 fine if I didn't renew the license. I called the vet and was told they really don't enforce it so long as he doesn't get in any trouble just wait. So that is what we did. So now we can renew his license at his yearly check up. I believe the rabies shot is the only requirement.

I have no idea on how many people refuse to license. I also don't know if NP has any rules on number of dogs since we only have one.

Where we used to live the limit was two dogs - no one really obeyed the law anyway. I don't think North Port has a limit.
Wow - $400 fine? That is outrageous!

Now - I am wondering - what do snowbirds with pets do about licenses? How do they know if you are seasonal or not?

You guys are funny - but that brings me to another question - Why are the fire hydrants here in NP painted lavender?
