Now that we may actually be getting close to moving in our house, does anyone know if there is more then the choice of Direct TV for internet, cable and telephone?

oh yes sorry ...name change !!!
we use them for internet, you may have to be persistent as they often insist they don't serve the area !!! our friends who live 1/2 a mile from us tried and CL said nope we don't serve you...so they gave them our number and said 'then whats this' and they changed their mind !!! You could also get their prism TV I guess....we stick with dish and are fairly happy =though you do lose a signal in heavy rain

If the cable lines aren't run to your home, then you won't get Century Link and Prism. Where we live in Port Charlotte most of our neighborhood had Comcast all but us and our next door neighbor. The line stopped two houses down from us. So just because one area has it doesn't mean you will. You have to contact each company individually to see. They had to send a technician out to our house to see if we could actually get it. We use Dish Network for cable and are very happy with them. And we use Century Link for Phone and Internet. We love the Dish Network Hopper. It automatically records all prime time stations and it skips the commercials automatically too. We can record up to 6 channels at the same time.

Options in this general area could be:
Century Link - Phone, Internet and Prism TV
Direct TV - Satellite
Dish Network - Satellite
Comcast - Internet, TV, Phone

You may want to look into getting a Bundle. It is cheaper.

True..I'm in North Port and have Verizon FIOS. If you go to the Verizon website and type my address in, it says not available in my area. My friend who lives about 5 miles away...can't get Verizon FIOS
