In today's World it is nice to hear something positive and that was a good one.

I arrived in Florida driving an ancient Chevy full size Blazer that got 12 MPG highway. Today my Pathfinder gets about 22 highway. But then the Blazer was drinking $1 a gallon gas too.

Exactly. Gas price increases have far outweighed efficiency increases. A car might get nearly double the MPG, but the price per gallon is 3.5-4x 1990's prices.

So your gas mileage has doubled and Ill bet your income has more than tripled since you were paying $1 for a gallon of gas.

If that's the case that would mean your gasoline expense as a percentage of your income has gone way way down.
