Anyone have references for someone to stay in your home overnight to take care of dogs when travelling? We have been fortunate to not have to board our dogs in our current home location. We have found folks that were trustworthy by word of mouth through friends. If we move to your area, ( which we hope to do) we won't have that network of people to draw from so I'm asking on this forum if any of you have contacts for folks that you trust to be in your home, and more importantly, to take excellent care of your pets. And that includes taking them to the emergency vet in the middle of the night if that is what is required. Thanks!

I have never used either one of these, but they have been recommended by others. I belong to the Gulf Coast Golden Retriever Rescue and they go to some of the same events we do.

You can contact Camp Bow Wow and see if they can recommend an in house sitter. I know many people that take their dog to Camp Bow Wow and they really like it. It is on Toledo Blade. http://www.campbowwow.com/us/fl/portcharlotte/

I used Camp Bow Wow on Toledo Blade and loved them. I liked that I got to log on and watch my dog during the day. I did not pay the extra for a "luxury"suite so didnt see her at night. But they were really good and then gave her a bath just before I picked her up.

Depending on the type of dog you have, (I have a Golden) I may be able to help you out.
Especially if YOUR dog can tire my dog out! lol

And we do have a WONDERFUL Vet in case you're interested.

mooselips13 -- boy do I have a proposal for you! I have a young ( 2 1/2 yrs old) std. poodle that we call the energizer bunny! She is all about playing- so sounds like your Golden would be a great match!! We have 3 std. poodles total -- the other two are older and happy to lounge on the couch.

Would love the vet reference too. Thanks!
