Hello, I have been looking on line at homes for sale in PC/PG and was wondering if Lewes creek is a no wake zone. Are there any maps that tell you what waterways are no wake and which are not. thanks

ALL canals/waterways are No Wake manatee zones! This is for the safety of the wildlife, shoreline erosion, and personal property protection. NO WAKE

Thanks for the info. I understand what NO WAKE means just thought that in may be different in a area called a CREEK. Seems like people that are already living in the area does not think anyone else has any knowledge when it comes to the rules of navigation, that's all. When I get down I will have to buy you a beer.

Regardless what the water is called, they are all no wake until you reach the river/harbor. I live on West Spring Lake. Numerous a$$hats think just because it is titled a "lake", they get to go 50mph. There are 6 huge signs throughout the lake that state "no wake", along with the county & state ordinance numbers. Either these jerks can't read or, more likely, they think rules don't apply to them. Too many times I've had my lift down, boat tied to the dock, and had a boat fly by 10ft away rocking the hell out of my boat. Thankfully I use large fenders so there's no damage, but the shoreline damage can be significant.

This was the local info I was looking for. When I go on google earth and zoom down to look at the entrances to the canals I often see images of boats kicking up a considerable wake going thru areas that I would think would be no wake and just trying to clarify what is right. I got a PM from someone who just bought a home in South Gulf Cove, I think, and he said that once you get past the last homes going out it becomes a no wake zone. So thanks for the info, can't wait to get down there.

Maybe in SGC since it's fresh water and there are no manatees. I don't boat over there, but here, even the mangrove channels are no wake zones. You can't go fast until the river/harbor (there are signs stating "resume normal safe operation")

Yes Mike, many do, and it's illegal. $95 fine the first offense, $500 the 2nd offense
