Heard good things about Whiskey Creek. Now in PG, Jacks in downtown is good if you are in the mood for seafood, nice outdoor dining and bar area.

Possibly Amimoto's. They won the Sun's Readers' Choice award this year for best sushi. Haven't tried it myself yet.

Amimoto's does not have the same ambiance as Laishley's. It's a smaller establishment in a strip mall. Tortuga's is in the same strip mall. Been to Tortuga's once. Food was good too but have not ate there enough to give my 2 cents worth...lol

Oops sorry, off topic.

Olive Garden on 41. But you need white hair to get a good seat.

Went to Prime last night for the third time. Everything was great. It was my moms 78th birthday.

The ambiance at Amimoto's is as blah as going to a dentist office (and, strangely enough, it almost looks like one). BUT, the food is good and the owner is charming and a very nice guy. We were chatting him up while sitting at the sushi bar--he had us as a captive audience since it was late (relatively speaking, which in Punta Gorda time means close to 9 pm) and we were the only customers there! He's a proud, hard-working guy who loves what he does and is very committed to Punta Gorda.

So, take that for what it's worth. On our next trip to PG we'll for sure go back.
