I'm looking for a gated golf community and have some interest in Kings Gate. Does anyone know if there are many singles there? I wouldn't want to be the only single female, not counting women who become widows while already living there. Any input would be appreciated. If you can recommend other active adult communities with golf in SW Florida that singles wouldn't be out of place, that would be helpful. Thanks.

I was in Kings Gate a few months ago showing homes and saw a few couples and some single people in the pool (don't know if they had someone at home though). I do know they have a pretty decent social calendar, so I would assume you would be able to meet some people that way. Kings Gate would be a top pick given your requirements.
I'm not sure if you wanted to stay in Charlotte county or you would venture a little north. Anyway, here are some ideas. Not all have golf but I listed it if they did:

You would be welcomed in most communities and not feel out of place being single. Kings Gate is a very nice community with a lot of social activities. Another gated golf community with low fees that compares to Kings Gate is Seminole Lakes in Punta Gorda. Kings Gate is 55+ and Seminole Lakes in not.
Most of the other gated golf communities have higher fees such as Bobcat Trail and Heron Creek in North Port and Riverwood in Port Charlotte and Burnt Store Marina in Punta Gorda. You might want to try Sabal Trace in North Port, but they don't have as many activities. Are you looking for single family homes only? Maple Leaf Estates is a popular gated golf mobile home community in Port Charlotte right near Kings Gate.
There are a few other gated communities around, but they do not have golf if golf is one of your preferences.
