Southern Minnesota checking in. It is forecast to be a balmy 55-60 degrees through Thursday. Shorts and t-shirts have been spotted already!

It does cost a lot, but nowhere comes close to the cultural (museums, Broadway), ethnic (simply amazing food from every place in the world) medical (top rated doctors and hospitals) and shopping diversity compared to what you will find "north of Wappingers Falls". I will get off my soap box now, but someone needed to stand up for what makes NYC the top tourist destination in the world.
I will admit that living here is a strain financially, taxes are outrageous, and winters are tough. But man will I miss it when I retire to Florida eventually. By the way, we did hit 40 degrees today to keep on topic (snow is finally melting).
You definitely make some great points here to the best of NY although 03 does have some valid points as well . That being said I myself do enjoy the diversity of the city especially the food part Broadway and people watching! But everyone has their opinion which is always great to be shared! We can all agree SW Florida is the place to be

Agreed. With my various houses and empty lots around Florida, I know we will eventually be somewhere in Florida, just not sure when.

If I could get a job paying close to what I make now, I could probably do it a lot sooner. But I have about 15 years until retirement and several mortgages to pay off first.

Wisconsin is having a heat wave. FINALLY! We just lived through the coldest February EVER. 50 degrees right now, mid to upper 50's later in the week!! I'm going to have to shovel the snow out from in front of the shed and put insurance back on the convertible and get her out!!

It did hit 52 in NY today. No need for a coat Snow is melting. Very dirty roads from all the sand and salt. Actually looking forward to a good rain storm to wash away the muck.

Weather update from Southern Minnesota: The forecast high today is 66 degrees. I will thoroughly enjoy the temp but it will not sway our plans to move go SW Florida in May!

I recall someone posting they only use the air conditioning 5 or 6 weeks a year down here. I have mine on at 75 degrees. Its in the mid to upper 80's for the rest of the week. So it's not even mid march yet and the ac is blowing. Now lunch outside today at Hurricane Charlies on the harbor was awesome in the shade. No ac needed.

5 or 6 weeks? They must enjoy the smell of mildew. We keep our air at 80. It'll run once in awhile between now and May, then full-time until October.
