Some of this is for your safety and to your benefit.. Other portions are part of the cash cow.. The Outward swinging door "theoretically could " withstand more pressure than inward swing.. JSYK.. My inward swing door on my house on the island of Cozumel withstood 48 hours of Hurricane force winds ( Wilma) just fine and it WAS NOT INSTALLED...with the 30 3.5" x 5/16" tap-cons as required here. That Hurricane lasted 47 hours longer than Charley did here and it blew Harder than Charley..
Deed Restricted Community.. Are you more likely to have someone turn you in for not paying for the permit they had to pay for??
Spy in the Sky.. If you google Map My House ( I have done so) you see it as being Blue with no sea wall or boat lift ...If you access County Records you see it ( From The Sky) painted as it is now and with the seawall and boat lift in place.. Hummm

Yes more friendly, but not required as I read the codes. And not storm door friendly.

seriously--how do you get rid of things down here? Is there a landfill, a scrap yard of some sorts? Not like I plan on doing this on an on going basis. But Yes I will have some stuff to get rid of here eventually ( At serious danger of showing my Ohio redneck kinda roots here. here we just pay the outrageous land fill rates and get rid of it)

There is a transfer station in Pt Charlotte whee you can take stuff for free.
You would need to check the county website to see what they will take and how often you can use it.

I just run to the landfill it's on Rt. 41 about 5 miles south of Burnt Store Rd. it's not free but it's easier.

Gary

The transfer station on Kenilworth is the place to take hazardous waste - paint, chemicals, gas, oil, etc. Rock, the hazardous waste technician is very helpful, and it's a no-hassle 5-minute transaction.
