Some nice person gave me one of those reputation thingies. In the comment, they asked me a question. Not wishing to be rude, i wish to answer. But i cant figure out how ? I cant figure out who sent it, or how to reply. Im sure its pretty obvious, but any help would be appreciated.

I'm not too sure there is a way other than to reply (if appropriate) in the post itself. Just remember that everyone will see the answer. Or maybe you can simply reply in the post that you'll answer via Direct Message and if they want an answer then they can contact you that way.

that't the problem with the rep. comments - you've no way to know who it's from. That's why when I I add to someone's rep, I always end it with my id so they know who did it.

ie: Couldn't have said it better myself - 03bluecoupe

I can't figure out how to type my own message I there, versus just clicking on "rate this post positively". People type personal messages in my reputation comments and it's always appreciated. Wish City Data had a "Like" button.

See the little icon in the top right of any post that looks like a balance scale? Click on that and away ya go

Right click on the "rate this post positively" and you will get a new window where you can type in. I haven't figured out how to find out who rates you either, if they don't sign their name. I'm guessing there isn't a way. Too bad....

OOPS, I tried your method and it doesn't work. (at least with Firefox) The only thing that works that I've found is what I posted to them a few days ago - that works on any browser.

As for WHO left it, you can't tell. That's why I always click on the "scales" and leave a comment and at the end of it I always end with -- 03bluecoupe

That way people know who did it, otherwise - there's no way to find out.

When you click on the scales , upper right side , you leave a message and write your handle name so they know who left it.
When somebody leaves a nasty message and you want to report it, a Mod can check and see who, left you that message and handle the matter with the person. We are not allowed to tell you who left the message.
