We are looking for a small local moving company for a short distance move. If anyone has used someone and was happy with them any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Bucknut

Somebody sent this guy to my house to pick up some furniture and they spoke highly of his work.

Might be worth a call. Matthew Dodge at 518, 221-3933

It is a New York state area code but is what he he used here when making a pickup.

Good luck with the move

Bucknut I used Curry Moving out of Port Charlotte 942 625 4191. They charge 90 bucks an hour. 2 men with a moving truck. They moved 2 bedroom sets and some misc. items. Total cost was 225 without a tip. 2 1/2 hrs. Very happy as some pieces were extremely heavy.

Jersey & Searcher,

Thanks for the help. I will give them a call. If anyone else has any suggestion please let me know. The back and knees are telling they don't like to move heavy furniture anymore!

Thanks,

Bucknut

We used Uhaul.com/movinghelpers. Prices and reviews on the web site. Just needed someone to unload furniture off the truck.
There is a 2hr minimum - done fast and worth it for us not having to haul heavy pieces.

+1 for 2 Men and a Truck. Just used them less than a month ago very happy with them. They include insurance for value of items not just the price per pound most movers use.

Thanks! I must admit I didn't realize the first post regarding 2 men and a truck was the name of an actual business lol. I will look them up!

Hey! Sorry I just saw this post. I am Matthew dodge, located in Punta gorda. We do local moves, load/unload storage units and uhaul. The man who referred me in the very top message, he accidently missed one number on my phone number. We are still doing local work here in sw florida and would be my pleasure to assist in any way I can. Thank you
Matt dodge
