Ok put on your tin foil hats, are these related?

1) The victim was about the same age as the conv. store robber. Maybe he recognized him and the perp shot him then set the place on fire to slow down the investigation. It is a small community, not a lot of young people here.

2) Perp is a convicted felon (local) and the police said they knew him well, maybe just getting all their ducks in a row before arresting him.

3) When he was shooting at the police they did not return fire ( when does this happen except in the movies) even though their lives were at risk as well as innocent citizens. Maybe they wanted/needed him alive for the 7-11 murder.

4)Started out the same type of crime maybe just an accidental discharge in the 7-11. Still the murder of a young man.

Not trying to out guess the police just trying to figure this out.

Ok, ok, now you know what I do when I can't sleep.

One of the gun rules drilled into your head over and over is knowing what is beyond your target; where your bullet will be going. I can only hope that is why the police didn't fire back; because they didn't have a clear shot. I hate to think they hesitated because of fears of the backlash of police involved shooting that's going on nationwide nowadays. That can be a fatal mistake.

As for the armchair sleuthing...I'll leave that for the guys in blue that have the facts. Me?? I've got more important things to figure out, such as why MA can catch so many fish and about the only thing I can catch is a cold!

The 20 year old young man who robbed the convenience store was African American. The video of 7 Eleven shows a white guy. Their actions seemed quite different, with the convenience store kid being more bold and less careful. (robbing a store where the owner knows you for 15 years)

Would they have known each other? Perhaps, from high school. Not like they hung out at the robber social club smoking cigars.

I'd say the police knew they could sit the kid out, while he ran out of ammo. Just not a good shot. Plus, they don't have a dead young man on their hands and in the news. I say it was well played.

Yup, just what I want....a bunch of stray bullets flying around. I have some personal experience with this. Ran a call once in the early 1990s where a mother, sitting in her car at a red light with her kids, was shot in the head and killed by a stray bullet from a gang gun battle a block away. No thanks, if the reason they didn't shoot was because of your reasoning I'd say that was negligent and put the public in more danger. If they ended up with a dead young man on their hands it would have been a direct result of his actions.

1dobiedude I have to disagree on a couple of points. The guy on Cooper street was not very well disguised and didn't act as smart as the 7-11 killer.

Somebody claimed the 7-11 perp was proven white. I sure couldn't swear to that from the pictures that have been provided.

All that being said the fact still remains that you got the best looking dog of all us members!

Exactly. I wouldn't lose any sleep if the police had to take out this career thug at the age of 20. He'll probably get out of jail in 5 years and kill someone.
