When I lived there, we used to go to a fantastic pizza place on King's Highway. It was next door to the Winn Dixie market in that plaza. Sorry, can't remember the name of it, but we always had to wait for a table, it always very busy.

Could be the name, I don't recall. Yes, it was on the same side as that mobile home development flying the Canadian flag. Across the street from the Sandhill condos as I recall. Is it still very good ?

Me 2; I'm a northeast pizza snob from RI. Home of 'da guys.
No pizza here in the NC mountains that can hold a candle ..... and I've tried 99.9% of them.

I finally had the pizza from Pioneer Pizza. I had a plain slice, spinach-garlic-ricotta-cheese and meatball-cheese-red sauce. All three slices tasted amazing. I was quite surprised how good the meatballs tasted. They tasted close to what they should taste like.

IMO the reason why their pizza tastes so good, I believe they brush the crust with a sweet butter and garlic mixture. Which adds additional fat/calories. But it definitely gives an "Italian" taste to the pizza. I will try other options on the menu. But I would say their pizza is one of the better ones in the area.
