Thank-you. You have a dangerous job that doesn't get much thanks when widespread damage occurs like during such a storm. Everyone expects immediate results now-a-days. Stay safe and thanks...hope we don't need you on the west coast here!

Early this morning they had that thing making landfall anywhere from WPB to Cape Canaveral. But now the eye looks to be about 50 miles NNE of WPB. Still some pretty good winds but no landfall yet. So you first responders probably won't be headed as far south as WPB, most likely Jacksonville area.

Stay safe! I work for ABB in medium voltage power system protection (relay). We are in Coral Springs and waiting to hear if there is any damage to the factory.

imapalmnut64, when you have a chance, let us know how you are doing. I'm sure you are seeing a lot of devastation. I offered my services but I think my age disqualified me. Still, I want to be there.

I support you, my brother. You are the lifeline for so many.

I arrived in Jacksonville this afternoon. Our company has 180 guys here to clear large trees and other debris from our clients properties. My team of 5 will be looking out for their safety on the job. We are still awaiting assessments of the damage in Hilton Head Island SC and Savannah GA. Authorities still have the island access closed off. We will likely send a small army there, later this week.
