Don't have a clue. I will tell you it's cheaper just to buy a new blade than have the old one sharpened.

Just go buy a $5 rat-tail file (of the right size) and check youtube for instructions. It takes less than 5 minutes to sharpen it yourself, and if you have a lot to cut you may have to sharpen it more than once in a single day.

If you really want someone else to do it, probably any small engine place will. Lookup A-Z Mowers, they have two locations in PC.

Any good hardware store can do this. What I have always done is buy an extra chain and then rotate them through the hardware store as they get dull. That way you always have a sharp one.

I know the Ace Hardware in MD used to sharpen chains....don't know if the one in P.C. does too, but it may be worth a phone call to them.

Thanks for the advice folks. I tried 2 places that advertised chain saw blade sharpening - both were closed for the holidays. I went to Ace Hardware - they do not offer the service. I decided to go with what HarborRat told me - bought a file & did it myself. I guess I'll know if it was successful when I use it next week at the Octagon Animal Sanctuary where I volunteer.

I've never bothered to sharpen chain saw blades. I always have new spare chain blades, just swap the old blade with a new blade, then throw away the old blade. I heard that if you sharpened the chain saw blades, you need to make sure that the angles are correct, otherwise there's an increased risk of 'kick back' occurring. I don't know how critical the angles are or how much increased risk there is of 'kick back' occurring.

I've worn out 3 cheap chainsaws over the past decade, so I broke down and spent about twice as much on a nice Stihl brand chainsaw. The Stihl brand is a huge upgrade from the cheap brand chainsaws.

I used Stihl saws in the fire service...everything from your typical chainsaw cutting trees to roof saws (both chain and rotary blades) to rescue saws to cut through iron window and door bars. Great saws, even in smoky atmospheres and whatever weather conditions you can imagine.
