Thanks, HH! I'll likely take you up on the introduction offer when and if I get down there. I'm a rank amateur at saltwater fishing, but looking forward to learning...

After reading all the opinions pro/con regarding bringing a perfectly good Wellcraft I/O boat to SWFL, I put my '87 Wellcraft 192 Classic on CraigsList last weekend and had it sold for my full asking price of $3500 by Friday.

Thanks again for all of the valuable opinion and local knowledge you folks contribute here, and I look forward to participating more as things progress with my relocation. I'm just sorry I didn't get a chance to go fishing with Messing About ....
That's great news, congrats!

I'm planning to put mine on the market in a week or two, it's a '95 182 Wellcraft Eclipse and I was thinking of asking $4,200 and I'll be happy with $3,500. This has me hopeful.

Let me know when you get here. I'll set you up with my good buddy to go fishing. He's a retired Naval sub captain, turned fishing guide on the Harbor. He used to be my neighbor on West Spring Lake in PC before we moved to Englewood.
Is this the guy that tried to scare us off your lawn with a bat?

SgtRich,
Thanks, and good luck on the sale of your Eclipse. Sounds like it's priced reasonably, so you shouldn't have much trouble.
And thanks again for starting this thread!

Sounds like there's a story behind the guy with a bat......

LOL, many years ago, Mr & Mrs Cool visited and stayed in our empty home for a few days before we even moved in. My rather large rolly-polly neighbor (not the previously mentioned fishing guide), not knowing who these people were, apparently "introduced himself" to them with a baseball bat. He was being a good neighbor and keeping an eye on the place. I had sent him an email letting him know folks would be staying there, but he never saw it. It was all good. No heads rolled
