Hurricanes aren't fun when the power goes out.We only lost our banana plant and power which was back on this afternoon.

They're much much worse when you have structural damage, can't live in your house and have to rebuild. And they're unspeakable when there is loss of life. Given our experiences with hurricanes over the 40 yrs I have lived in Florida, including a direct hit by Andrew, visits by Katrina and Wilma, while it is inconvenient and uncomfortable, you can count your blessings if the only effect of a major hurricane on you is that loss of power.

Agree with you completely.A friend in St Pete's mother lost her house in Homestead after Andrew.She could not find a place to live so he bought her a travel trailer,took it down there and set it up on her lot.I think she was among the more lucky ones.
