Still in the planning and apporoval stages. They are moving the Fishery but still within the same general location. He showed us the rendering of the entire plan.

Info supplied by: Communication from Punta Gorda
City Council Member Nancy Prafke's weekly e-mail on 6/1/2018.

Question: What is going on at the corner of Jones Loop and Taylor roads, diagonally across from Murphy Oil and Walmart? The land has been cleared

Answer: Exciting news! This is where a new Wawa convenience store will be built. Wawa recently opened a location in Port Charlotte. This is so new that it isn't on Wawa's list of new openings in Florida as posted on their website.

Tammy: I heard that a Lucky's grocery store is opening in the old Kmart shopping center. A poorer man's Whole Paycheck. Was there a mention of Lucky's in the presentation?

My post was back in February. Lucky's was not mentioned at that time. There are lot's of new businesses being added all the time. Kings Highway near I-75 has Arby's, Popeye's, 3 Pepper Burrito, and Tire Kingdom coming. There is a new Dollar General on Veteran's being built too.

And yes the old Kmart has Burlington, Home Goods and Lucky's Market. They are posted on a sign on the property.

Guard Space Storage on Peachland is expanding, 2300 sq ft building plus they purchased the building next door for renovations.
