So just had our septic tank and field replaced. Backfill scheduled for tomorrow. What's the best way to repair the lawn? What's the best type of grass for southwest florida? Also waiting on seawall and pool. Should I leave the lawn repair till everything is done? Probably February.

I’d wait and do it all at once.

My BIL in Ft. Myers swears by zoysia sod. Just be sure to build in a barrier with rock or brick to neighboring lawns to prevent infiltration of less desirable grass and weeds. Spray the barrier strip periodically with the grass killer of your choice to keep them clear.

Thanks for the advise....makes sense! Wait till all the mess is over, maybe look at irrigation system prior to new lawn. If there is any funds left.

Definitely go for the irrigation system if you can use anything except for city water. Several homes around mine have wells that are used for irrigation, mine doesn’t unfortunately.

2 things bother me about a well, #1 the initial cost vs maybe $30 per month on my water bill. Will take 15 years to equal out. And I've seen some systems that turn everything that gets wet a rust red.

Can I ask how much it typically costs to put in a well?

Thx
