How do you open your big beautiful, expensive patio doors that have these crazy pool alarm sirens on them?
I know it is all about safety bla, bla, bla but I can't believe people buy the open space to their pools and lanis to only open and close glass doors for 5 seconds after bypass is hit. How can all the glass doors be used without removing the batteries? Thanx

After inspection we removed the batteries since we don’t have children. Easy nuff!

many people take them back to the store after the final inspection of the new pool has passed. That's why the ones on the shelf are taped/stapled up. I've never known a soul that has left them active.

We had the fence instead of the alarms. Post inspection, the fence goes in a box and the holes were plugged up, done.

SHHHH Next thing CC will enact a new reg to have pool alarms tested every 6 mos. with another extortion fee added.

Pool alarms in my day was the smack sound on our butts when we didn't listen the 1st time to stay away from the pool. No batteries required and it only needed to be activated once.

No pool alarm here but do have a safety fence that was installed and then rolled up the day after inspection and now lives in the garage attic.

We are going with a fence, we have a 2 year old. I didn't think the alarms would be worth it because the doors are heavy enough I don't think he will be able to open them for a couple years.

Good choice. Those pool door alarms are a bigger joke than a battery powered smoke detector.
Please also teach him to swim ASAP.

Not the hurricane doors on the dm dean model, they took a bit of effort to open. The glass on them is pretty thick, you can tell there is some weight to them. Unless the model one was just worn out from all the in/out that happens on a daily basis.

My neighbor just got some quotes on hurricane-rated sliders to replace his existing ones. He was told each panel weighs over 300 lbs.!
