Where can I find a map of the canals from the bird section of PGI to Ponce and the new route through Buckley Pass? I’d like to know how much time it takes now and how much will it trim through Buckley? All I get is realtor’s trying to sell me a house without a true map. I’ve searched up and down the internet and am buying a boat soon, so it will be a determining factor of if and when I’ll do so. Very frustrating. I appreciate any help with my lack of internet navigation. Thanks, Bk PGI

Looks like it's moving along, albeit slowly. Thanks for the update Mike!

ETA on the pass is February. We are looking forward to using it.

From our location adjacent to the rim canal a few canals west of the 'lake' it takes us about 12 minutes to motor over to the construction area (as opposed to 30 to get to Ponce). Allowing a few more minutes to navigate that short canal that dumps into Alligator, then heading out into the harbor to a predetermined GPS waypoint headed south toward Boca Grande, we will be saving considerable time and distance over going out the old way.

Gotta say we are looking forward to not having the self-appointed no-wake dockside watchdogs yell at every single boat passing by (regardless of how fast or slow they go). Water displaces from the bow when a boat passes through it and some people just assume any water movement at all must be a wake. Idiots.

Glad you found the map.

Speaking of maps, isn't there a map that has the canal names? I thought I saw one somewhere, but misremembered where I saw it.

Thanks,

Thanks,
This comes from the GIS interface:

https://www.charlottecountyfl.gov/se...ewayTrails.pdf . Enlarge the PDF file to see the canal names clearly.

The overall website address is:https://www.charlottecountyfl.gov/se.../allitems.aspx
